Red and black fruit aromas, a trace of earthiness; soft but quite assertive, drying tannins. A big, firm, tight shiraz, with a solid tannin grip. It's the least of the five vintages 2013-17 tasted to date, but still very good. (14% alc.). Huon Hooke
An alluring nose of cloves and bunch-spice, charcuterie and white pepper, plum sauce and tapenade. Fragrant and complex. Time in the glass allows fresher plums and cinnamon to emerge. It also allows tannins the time to jut. This is showing early signs of development. Cruising into the next chapter. Nick Butler
