Light straw-yellow hue, with a lightly-toasted nut bouquet that showcases quality oak and subtle lees touches. The oak is slightly wheaty. The palate is deliciously fruited, gently grapefruity and has sustained intensity backed by a well-judged tannin grip that supplies backbone. A long finish of lip-smacking dryness. A very fine, concentrated chardonnay with the potential to build with time in the cellar. (PS: it was just as good two days later) Huon Hooke
