The medium to full-bodied 2019 Gibbston Vineyard Pinot Noir (from the winery's home vineyard) is again a top performer. Complex aromas of pencil shavings, wild herbs, root vegetables and Bing cherries all make appearances, while the tannins are exquisitely balanced and supple, the fruit concentrated and ripe, and the finish long and mouthwatering. Expect this beauty to drink well for a decade, perhaps even longer. Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
This is a wine that makes you say “ahh,” akin to taking your shoes off after being on your feet all day. It's fragrant and delicate with very fine tannins. It feels almost fragile, but don't be concerned; there is plenty of concentration here, and gorgeous purity of silken fruit plumps out the midpalate. Around a fifth of the wine underwent whole bunch, and maturation took place in 30% new oak, but there's no overt oaky character despite its youth. Inviting on release, the flavors of raspberry, wormwood and thyme linger on the medium-length finish. If I were being super picky, I'd love those haunting scents to linger a little longer. Otherwise, this wine has nailed it. Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous
Light, supple pinot noir with cherry, fresh herbs, spice and integrated nutty oak flavours. A fine-grained, smooth-textured wine with typical Gibbston vibrant, tangy, high-energy cool-climate characters. Bob Campbell MW
