I have to admit to loving this wine. It's wild. The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc leads with dried herbs, tobacco, jasmine tea, graphite, that complex drift of dehydrated orange peel—from the skin-contact component—and a host of other characters. A wine that you can sit on and consider is an exciting wine in my book. In the mouth, the wine is textural and dry, layered and complex, with all of the characters mentioned above, a warmth of alcohol and plenty of other attractive things that keep me coming back for more. I wrote, upon my visit to the estate last year, that "Pegasus Bay is responsible for Rieslings worth crossing an ocean for." I'd say the same for this Sauvignon Blanc. This is an excellent wine, among my favorites in all of New Zealand. It's textural as hell, chewy and great. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
