The 2016 Granja Remelluri Gran Reserva was produced with a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and other grapes from their estate vineyards. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-top oak vats and matured in barrels of different origins and sizes for 26 to 28 months. It has 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.56. This is classical and modern Rioja, a little bit the description of what Remelluri is, combining the best of the Riojan tradition but up to date. There is more freshness here than in the majority of Gran Reserva, with fruit and plenty of tannin with a dusty texture. It should age in bottle. 10,000 bottles produced.
