The 2022 Pinot Noir leads with a gently reductive nose of gunflint and woodsmoke, curry leaves and black olive tapenade. In the mouth, the wine has a profusion of red-berry fruits and exotic spices, with tannins that are sandy and gritty and provide shape and chew through the finish. Speaking of the finish, the wine moves toward arnica and medicinal herbs as it fades—like wisps of smoke or the carriage of sound. It's very attractive, lean, spicy and detailed. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Overtly reductive both upon opening and a day later, the 2022 Pinot Noir has a rather off-putting nose—but this isn't a wine that you ought to be opening now. It has good weight with savory notes, plum fruit and a richly spiced toastiness from oak maturation. Assured Pinot tannins provide structure but are unobtrusive, and plenty of acid tension adds purpose to the finish. I'd certainly like to see less reductive tendencies to make it more aromatically attractive in its youth, but it is otherwise a carefully grown wine with well-judged oak. This will benefit from at least another two to three years in bottle. Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous
