The 2019 Balhannah Vineyard Shiraz was sourced from the Balhannah vineyard (in Balhannah), at 380 meters ion elevation, planted on loam over clay, ironstone, quartzite and shale and north facing. This is a spicy, cool-climate expression of Syrah, and it nails the stylistic brief. This is structural and firm, but it manages the tannins with a splay of delicate fruit stretched out across them and soars across the long finish. Adam Wadewitz is a very talented winemaker, and so the quality of this "new" release range of single-vineyard wines came as no surprise. Very good indeed. Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
