The 2021 Pinot Noir Bannockburn Vineyard is a silky, flowing style with a fineness of tannin that coats the palate. It's not as burly as some Bannockburn cuvees, with the vineyard sitting at 350 meters, bringing a cooling influence and delaying ripening, yet there is a generosity here. An amazing coating of tannin provides a sensation that's reminiscent of slipping a hot water bottle into its cover. The lengthy finish is fragrant with a fine herbal quality and mixed spice alongside cherry fruit. This is a wine that sneaks up on you and leaves your pleasantly surprised. Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous
