The 2022 Gibbston Vineyard Pinot Noir speaks of cocoa and bramble, woodsy spice and purple fruit. This has all the concentration and distinction of a Chinese goji berry, with black cherry, aniseed, licorice and crushed rocks. Central Otago is a beautiful, stark place of mountains and vista, and this wine echoes that. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2022 Pinot Noir Gibbston Vineyard is an aromatic, sweetly fruited Pinot Noir with a firm line of acidity on the finish, evoking a sweet and sour character. While light in body, it provides a sense of plumpness through the mid-palate with concentrated flavors of cherry and citrus fruit, meeting the smoky bacon of reduction and toasty notes of cedar. The 2022 is open, fragrant and expressive, but there's no escaping the firm edge to the acidity on the finish, which is reflected in my rating. Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous
